Obama’s Weird New Movie And America’s Extreme Vulnerability To Cyber Attack

January 6, 2024

This article was written by Brandon Smith and originally published at Birch Gold Group

There has been a lot of buzz lately about a recently released film by Netflix titled ‘Leave The World Behind’ based on a novel by the same name.  The plot revolves around a catastrophic collapse in the US triggered by a cyber attack (and mass drone attack) that shuts down the internet and disrupts the global economy, leading to questions of who might have been behind the sabotage?

The most interesting aspect of the film is not so much the story (which is lackluster at best), but the fact that Barack Obama was so deeply involved in the making of the film as executive producer and as adviser on the script. This has led many people to suggest the movie is actually predictive programming – Propaganda designed to acclimate the masses to the idea of an event that is planned to happen in the near future.

Similar concerns were raised back in 2021 when the World Economic Forum oversaw a “war game” called Cyberpolygon, an event meant to simulate a massive cyber attack on the vulnerable functions of the world-wide web. The reason Cyberpolygon raised so many eyebrows was perfectly understandable; the WEF had also hosted another simulation at the end of 2019 called Event 201. The game, which included the CEOs of some of the most powerful health and media corporations in the world along with numerous government officials, “coincidentally” focused on the outbreak of a global coronavirus pandemic, and it was held only a couple of months before the real thing happened.

In other words, it was as if the globalists at the WEF knew that covid was about to strike.

While Hollywood interpretations of cyber attacks are usually exaggerated in terms of the true effects, there is a very real and considerable threat associated with such a disaster. So-called “experts” in the tech field often dismiss the wider dangers to the internet itself because they have been indoctrinated into believing that the design of the web has too many redundancies. In other words, they act as if it is invincible.

This is not really the case. Though data loss can be prevented through cloud storage, the internet as a mechanism can still be shut down or taken down deliberately for long periods of time.

In the past I have written about a very interesting event that was barely covered by the corporate media called the “Fastly Outage.”  In June of 2021 there was an internet outage that led to large swaths of the web going completely dark, including a number of mainstream news sites, Amazon, eBay, Twitch, Reddit. A host of government websites also went down. All this happened when content delivery network (CDN) company Fastly experienced a “bug.” Although Amazon had its website back online within 20 minutes, the brief outage cost the company over $5.5 million in sales.

A content delivery network is a geographically distributed network of proxy servers and their data centers. They make up the what is known as the “backbone” of the internet.

Fastly identified and fixed the problem within two hours and continues to claim the outage had nothing to do with a cyber attack. However, a huge vulnerability for the internet (a center of structural support Carl von Clausewitz would’ve called a “schwerpunkt”) was revealed to the public. A sizable portion of the web is dependent on only a handful of CDN companies, including Fastly.

It is also through collusion with these companies that governments are able to implement an “internet kill switch” in the face of possible civil unrest. A cyber attack would simply remove the government as the arbiter (or act as a false flag scapegoat so the government can avoid blame).  But what would really happen if we lost the internet for a week, or a month or a year? In the US the result would be calamity because our economy has become far too dependent on digitization.

Around 10% of US GDP is directly tied to online commerce. This doesn’t seem like much, but a loss of that GDP would send the US into immediate and steep recession. Around 17 million jobs in the US are generated by commercial internet enterprises, and around 38% of these workers are employed by small businesses. According to surveys 70% of American workers say they cannot do their jobs effectively without internet access.

Keep in mind, if the trend of “work from home” during the covid lockdowns had stuck, an even bigger piece of the economy would be dependent on the health of the web.

The five industries considered most vulnerable to cyber attack are public administration, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, finance and insurance, education and retail. That is to say, these are the industries that are attacked most often. Attacks on vital utilities are usually the favorite set pieces for disasters portrayed in fiction and film, but these are actually far less worrisome. The real danger is the potential for an attack on the internet as a system. All it would take is for a couple CDNs or more to be hit simultaneously to cause vast online blackouts.

Most important of all are the ways in which international banking and finance utilize online networks to maintain the flow money. Without the web, trade velocity dies immediately and building it back from implosion could take years.

But who would benefit from such an attack? Certainly, foreign powers might see the crippling of America’s digital infrastructure as a way to severely damage the country without having to fight directly and militarily. However, there are also a number of benefits to the globalists.

For example, one of the biggest obstacles for the elites during their attempt to institute medical tyranny and the ‘Great Reset’ during covid was the proliferation of factual data that debunked the pandemic narrative. American conservatives represented a serious barrier to their success with tens of millions of gun owning patriots refusing to comply. The harder they pushed, the greater the chance of an armed insurgency.

Even though the establishment had every single Big Tech conglomerate on their side when it came to mass censorship of contrary information, they still failed to stop the spread of the truth – Covid was nowhere near the threat they hyped it up to be and the public was quickly made aware of this by the alternative media. The elites did not have as much control over the web as they thought they did.

In the event of a large scale cyberattack, the internet could be shut down completely, leaving only corporate media sources to filter information and control the narrative. The alternative media would be silenced and the public would be left in confusion, desperately searching for answers. Interestingly, this is a core theme of Obama’s ‘Leave The World Behind’ – The idea of a population utterly cut off from reliable information and scrambling to figure out who is attacking them.

The internet has become an integral pillar of western economies to the point that a majority of people would not know how to live without it should it disappear. This is the disturbing reality we face in the midst of a growing series of geopolitical conflicts and more oppressive governments. It would seem it’s only a matter of time before there’s a major disruption.

The solution is pretty straightforward – Localization of trade and production is the way to prevent full spectrum collapse, and alternative communication networks such as ham radio networks can prevent information silence. There is no reason why Americans should have to become subservient to the whims of globalism, the interdependent supply chain or digitization; they can and should create their own backup plan. Getting people to realize this and implement basic local measures is where we run into difficulties. Sadly, a lot of first-world citizens assume that the system will always be there for them when they need it, and they don’t actively seek out solutions until disaster is at their doorstep.

The “cloud” actually centralizes data and HISTORY enabling censure/erasure of history. Why are upload speeds onto the web designed to be slower than download? Why are PC’s not designed to also serve data? IMO, this is b/c the techno-spy industry run by the KM is trying to centralize digital information, just as they have done throughout HIStory by owning/controlling publishers, broadcasters, etc.

Digital is humanity’s chance to decentralize everything, yet it’s not being allowed to head in that direction. Centralization is, of course, where everything evil can and does occur.

    • RedBaron16 January 6, 2024 at 7:45 pm

The “cloud” is nothing more than digital storage and doesn’t centralize anything unless a company is silly enough to rely on it.

Upload speeds are slower because most of the Internet is geared toward downloads be that news, weather, or other data. Rarely do individuals need to upload data.

As for me, I do not want my PC to serve data. This means my computer would be on all the time and not for my benefit.

      • Luke January 8, 2024 at 2:17 am

They do need to upload data. Upload is usually a fraction of down over copper (coax, dsl, some hybrid fiber solutions). However it’s equal on biz class (real biz class) fiber and for good reason. Churches need it to stream live services and businesses that have cloud based servers need it just the same. Most biz are getting away from on-premise servers. It’s much safer in a data center than in sitting in the telco closet or Hillary’s bathroom closet. Ditto for engineering firms and other orgs that share large files.

Yes Governments have the ability to kill the internet. They can do it by region if they like. Ugh I read a story (can’t recall) about them doing it where there was civil unrest some time ago.

The problem we have relative to this movie is not so much the internet going down but the dominoes that would follow. NOTHING would get done and I mean next to NOTHING. Shit You couldn’t buy anything even with cash if you think about. Once any grocery store USA went down you might as well just start looting the fucker. I plan on it. You could probably get gas for a day at your local Habib station lol. But that’s it, you are done for all intents and purposes.

And now we get to having no payroll. After a couple of days cops, firemen, linemen, water treatment workers, etc etc start coming to the realization they are NOT getting paid. Uh oh, and now the looting starts because ya know systemic racism and sheet.

It could spiral right the hell out of control very fast. That’s without the satellites going down. In the movie they were taken out too. I thought it (movie) did a good job depicting Normie POV. That being said, I have always liked the run up to any zombie movie watching the characters blissfully unaware shit is getting ready to hit the fan.

The prepper dude (Kevin Bacon) knew what was up. He was ready but I missed how that part ended. Then they all lucked the hell out at the end when the little girl stumbled onto the mega SHTF bunker. If you live by any extremely wealthy neighborhoods or houses might want to keep your ears open. That $20M bunker just might be yours someday lol.

Watched it a bit over a week ago. Told someone else on here about possibly learning from MSM and Pop Culture. This is what I meant. In this case I was curious if Barry was trying to send a message to the sheep? Stock up you fools. They won’t listen to Brandon but they might Julia Roberts haha. Not saying that was his angle but it did cross my mind.

Seriously IMO it’s ultimately better for us if more people are prepared ahead of time. At least for those of us unlucky enough to steal our very own doomsday bunker. I got dibs on Zucmerberg’s 😉

        • Gauntlet33 January 10, 2024 at 2:39 pm

Hey Luke, I agree with the general premise of your comments that the internet being down for a sustained period of time could wreck our economy and access to necessities. However, I just wanted to point out that a few times when the federal govt had a shutdown, I believe many federal employees continued to work for some time, and I think it would likely be that we would at least get a few weeks from our local cops, firemen, etc while the internet / payroll issue is “fixed”, but looting might start within a few days anyway, because looters are just looking for opportunities to loot and cause chaos. Also, I remember hearing some time ago that Barack and Michael had a huge propane tank installed on their Northeast home.

  • Jake January 6, 2024 at 9:00 am

Digital should be allowed to head in the decentralizing direction ASAP

  • Tom MacGyver January 6, 2024 at 10:26 am

One would think that if this movie was meant to telegraph future intentions it would have been done better. I watched the stupid thing just so I could comment on it it in forums like this one. In short, there are two kinds of people; those who know how truly vulnerable our cyber and power grids are, and those who think such a thing couldn’t POSSIBLY happen. I truly don’t think ANYONE’S mind was changed by this woke-soaked waste of money, film, and time. “Leave The World Behind” is where poor plots, poor directing, poor acting, and story line loose ends go to die…

…As for Obama’s fingerprints being on the cameras, I believe this was publicized in order to get a certain group of people to watch it…

There… For those of you who haven’t watched “Leave The World Behind,” I just gave you back two hours of your lives…

I definitely wouldn’t recommend people watch this movie. Just know that the plot is suspiciously similar to the WEF’s Cyberpolygon simulation.

“The plot revolves around a catastrophic collapse in the US triggered by a cyber attack (and mass drone attack) that shuts down the internet and disrupts the global economy, leading to questions of who might have been behind the sabotage?”
    .
Threats by cyber attacks are quite real. Most websites are being attacked every day by bad players… and plenty of Dark Siders around the Globe have motives to create widespread chaos.
    .
But who benefits most from movies and the like that scare about cyber attacks? That very Dark State that lurks behind most of the bad actions going on around Planet Earth. While we do need to take protective measures against such attacks – and those against our power grid – there are many who simply seek to keep the public in a constant state of fear and panic. And running to them for help. In short, running right into the waiting arms of those who are not your friends at all.
    .
“… it was as if the globalists at the WEF knew that covid was about to strike.”
    .
It’s easy to know about things that will happen when you are the one planning and causing such things. Not so much Nostradamus but simple Cause-and-Effect.
    .
When the Net or the total power grid goes down just watch the stampede of people who will be running to the Dark Siders to save them. And the Dark Ones will smile and laugh at all the frightened people they have created that are now ready for easy plucking.
    .
We all have been made vulnerable by our dependence on electricity and the just-in-time food delivery system. Homesteaders of the past could get by without the power plug and they had animals and plants to live off of. We have ChinaMart and ConEd and we rely on others to hand-carry food right to our doorsteps. Soon, we’ll be wanting them to spoon-fed us as well.
    .
Going through life scared and vulnerable is no way to live. It’s not easy these days… but one has to find ways to live as well as possible without dependence on such vulnerable systems that can be shut down quickly at someone’s whim.
    .
And we must become stronger of spirit. We don’t need anyone’s permission for that, nor do we have to wait for someone to deliver that to us. We can and must do this for ourselves. Right here. And right now.

In addition to the resulting social disconnectedness and chaos, A cyberattack on the financial system (directly) would catalyze the globalist agenda. In light of the Fed’s current predicament owing to years-long policy “errors”, an attack by supposedly faceless perpetrators would also provide a much-needed scapegoat for a decimated economy. Since COVID, central bank heads have been asserting cyberattacks as the financial system’s single greatest threat.

“Cyberattacks are the number-one threat to the global financial system”. – Jerome Powell, 2021.

    “A well-organized cyber-attack on a major financial institution could trigger a liquidity crisis.” – Christine Lagarde, 2020 [https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2020/02/08/645-billion-cyber-risk-could-trigger-liquidity-crisis-ecbs-lagarde-warns/?sh=6ae55a907ca8]

Also in 2021, and to little fanfare, treasury officials from about a dozen countries simulated a cyberattack attack on the global financial system. They summarized their key findings as follows: “sophisticated players – featured several types of attacks that impacted global foreign exchange and bond markets, liquidity, integrity of data and transactions between importers and exporters. These events are creating havoc in the financial markets. The simulation also used fake news reports that in the scenario caused chaos in global markets and a run on banks.”

I sense their findings may prove to be prescient in the not-so-distant future.

A few months ago in Australia one of our mobile phone networks went down for about 12 hours and almost straight away people were saying that we need to keep cash. If this happened on a global scale and people couldn’t transact wouldn’t that hinder a move to a cashless society?

The cashless society would come AFTER the crash, not before.

That Fastly “attack” happened within minutes of The National Pulse posting an online video of a talk Peter Daszak gave before the NY Acadeny of Medicine in 2016 on his colleagues at the Wuhan Institute of Virology doing “genetic sequencing” (genetic engineering) on “dangerous coronaviruses” and introducing “pseudo–particles” into them and making them highly contagious to humans by introducing them to human cells in the development stage — logical in “bat vaccines” right?!?! /sarc. (Oh, you didn’t see it as they all upgraded theie aggregator platforms during that staged downtime?! Guess it worked!)

I am attaching a video with English subtitles of a part of a Bulgarian film that gives an example of a community model outside the network.
The duration is only 8:34 minutes, but it says a lot.
In Bulgaria, many people realize that the exit from the matrix is in a similar type of decentralized system.
Fortunately, about 90% of Bulgarians have hereditary properties and agricultural lands in the villages and will probably quickly organize themselves into such decentralized communities.
    Hope it happens.

Time is short for the globalists, so it would make sense for them to try something drastic like a cyber meltdown or a war. I still believe they will fail, but boy, the collateral damage and fallout is going to be immense.

  • Ignatius Loyola January 7, 2024 at 7:25 am

What if the degenerates in the deep state knocked out the internet a few days before the 2024 presidential election? I would think it would be pretty easy to commit massive election fraud if they did that.

  • helot January 7, 2024 at 2:10 pm

Worst case scenario, IF the power grid were ‘knocked out’ how long do you suppose it would be before power was restored?
A couple of weeks, months, a year, or … years? Ever?

Planning for a Winter storm outage, or a bit longer duration is one thing… the year, years & ever, is a whole different strategery.

“Planning for a Winter storm outage, or a bit longer duration is one thing… the year, years & ever, is a whole different strategery (sic).”

Yeah… True… But it’s a good place to start… Too many don’t even go that far, and therein lies the problem…

Read the Great Taking by David Rogers Webb. Then it all makes sense – “the hidden perpetrators” Will be able to take everything without getting blamed – like every financial crash set up a scapegoat to pass on the blame

  • Soldier January 7, 2024 at 9:22 pm

Wouldn’t a cyber attack be a reason to go more old school with money? Ie the old days of cash and even gold? Why would i sign up for a centralized and digitized cashless society after a major cyber attack highlighting the frailaties of a high tech society?

Because you would have no other choice. The following economic crash would wipe out the buying power of cash and the only widely accepted replacement would be whatever CBDC they offer you. Sure, there will be people who set up alternatives, but you know and I know that the majority of people will simply bow to whatever system offers them an escape from hyperinflation and desperation. They’ve done it before and they will try to do it again. Don’t think for a second they won’t sacrifice the existing system to pave the way for their “new world order.”

It’s like pulling teeth to get people I know to read articles from alt media. They flat out refuse to try alt SM sites like Odysee or Slug. Even after complaining about the restrictions and fears of censorship.
“Why download our church services on Gab? Everybody is on Facebook and YouTube. They have a better reach.”
They fail to see that a smaller circle of users means less dilution. It’s like niche marketing. Reaching the intended audience is what counts.

      • Soldier January 10, 2024 at 3:09 am

We stood up to the shots though as tou have pointed out. Christians have gone on and on about the mark of the beast for centuries. We would collectively just not want to sign on to CBDC out of fright of going to hell if no other reason.

I have heard for a few years that the bankers are going to take all private property, even if there is no mortgage, re recapitalise the TBTF after the crash. I can’t see too many people wanting to hand their houses over to the banks. That’s if it’s paid off or they can service the repayments.

  • Buratta January 8, 2024 at 10:03 pm

Brandon what is your thought on protecting against a cyber attack? inevitably most of us have money inside the banks… most articles i will find are addressing the wrong issue – protecting yourself against getting hacked/ID theft.

is our only real recourse to take it all out and convert it to physical assets?

@Guantlet IMHO the difference between a small confined outage compared to national/worldwide one would be stark. You give a good example but one has to keep in mind it’s relegated to a very small subset of the population.

Ex: Deputy Bill can call up his mom in the neighboring state and learn everything is okay. This calms nerves and brings confidence to a speedy resolution. However what happens when there’s nobody to call? And then increase that small subset of people to everyone. It’s hard to say what the timeline to awareness is but you can bet no confidence or reassurance in the system will be forthcoming.

It’s funny because this is the VERY thing that scared me so badly with covid; particularly the vaccines. Up until then I had been conditioned to learn Big Pharma might have experimented with a small subset of people somewhere in the world. However running a worldwide experiment with no control group was truly terrifying to watch. Instead we became the ever so reluctant control group out of necessity.

Now I believe the people responsible for that probably don’t want a cyber attack like the one depicted in that movie. They are about worldwide dominance and sending the entire US into chaos seems antithetical to the control they covet. That being said I am not even sure the people calling the shots are playing with a full deck anymore. And as the Kevin Bacon character in the movie said; “We have pissed some people off.” Look no further than the current situation in the ME to confirm that.

  • Gauntlet33 January 12, 2024 at 11:43 am

@Luke, you make some good points. I for one am anxious to see if they’ll cause a national cyberattack or if it’ll be regional. Because they’re going off the “contagion” premise, I’m guessing they’ll start with a region/city and then say it “infected” / affected other nearby centers. Who knows? And I think you’re right that they’re not playing with a full deck or steady mind…the closer they think they’re getting to victory, the more their arrogance will bite them in the rear.

To your point Brandon, this is a big subject right now. I find it interesting that Tucker just interviewed Dennis Quaid on the subject… as if Quaid is an expert. He (Quaid) demonstrated that he is not a very good speaker. Tucker’s response was, of course, “OMG what will we do.” Something tells me that this just may be a warning shot. I am also trying to figure out if Tucker is a shill. His interviews of late sure make it seem so.

  • Linda January 14, 2024 at 4:12 pm

From my research Tucker is a shrill. The elites have a insane plan that they are attempting to implement and people like Tucker are facilitating the plan for them. In my opinion they are just actors reading a script.
